You’ll hear from some guys who are preparing Detroit youth for real careers. Jason D. Lee is the Executive Director of the Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program (DAPCEP). DAPCEP is a non-profit organization that provides educational programming to over 4,000 Detroit area youth every year in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine. Jason will be joined by Jamie Hamilton, our very own Technology Vice President. Jason and Jamie will discuss why it’s important for our youth to be exposed to these studies outside of the classroom, a core mission of DAPCEP. The organization has partnered with eight universities, numerous corporations and the philanthropic community to give children experience in things like nanotechnology, computer programming, mechanical engineering and much, much more. Adam is now the CEO of Campus Commandos, and his company assists major brands in capturing the college demographic through strategy development, brand ambassador programs, email blasts, social media page development, sweepstakes and more. Adam has worked with the likes of Nike, eBay and Hewlett Packard to help carry their messages to thousands of college students nation-wide. Detroit’s supermarket scene isn’t just in Eastern Market. The E & L Supermercado has been operating on the same block in Southwest Detroit for the past 65 years.
